We put the spotlight on news from around the world, highlight trends and try to find the why behind news events. We try to catch as many of the important news items that fall through the cracks.

Sidenotes are terse to-the-point summary of significant news articles from around the world. Quicklinks are direct links to news items that are noteworthy but do not warrant a summary or an in-depth look just yet.

We are also building a library of important newspapers, magazines, government portals and tourism sites. Each site is selected, reviewed and categorized manually unlike many machine-based directories.

We are not anti-media. But unlike the major news outlets, we have more time than they do to delve deeper into the causes and effects of events that make headlines. We leave attacks on the media to the skilled and well-funded anti-media groups.

In the end, we define ourselves by standing for the world and not by standing against a specific group.
